Tips to Avoid Paying Fees & Charges
Because the Queensland Professional Credit Union is genuinely concerned about members' welfare, unlike some financial institutions, we want to save you money, where we can.
The most effective way to reduce the fees and charges payable on your at-call savings account is by applying for the Queensland Professional Credit Union Visa Debit Card.
We urge you not to be frightened by the thought of a Visa Card as our Visa Card is a Debit Card not a Credit Card and only accesses the available balance of your savings account.
By using our Visa Debit Card you can reduce the withdrawal fees by:
- pressing the credit button each time you make a purchase and
- signing a Visa Docket.
This will be a fee free transaction.
Loyalty Plan
Your account can be free of the monthly Visa Card charge if you become part of our "Loyalty Plan". The criteria is simple. It is open to all members who have a current Personal or Mortgage loan with Queensland Professional Credit Union under that membership number. You will also be exempt if you have a minimum balance of $15,000 or more, for the month, in any Savings or Term Deposit account under that membership number.
Pay Your bills Over The Telephone
You can also reduce the cost of personal cheques and postage costs by using your Visa Debit Card to pay your bills over the telephone, where the Credit Card pay by phone option is available. It's simple and easy and is also another fee free transaction.
Make Larger Withdrawals
You could also try and make larger withdrawals once a week rather than accessing your funds every couple of days. This will save you time and may also encourage you to budget more efficiently.
